Safeguarding Newsletter (April 2026)
Horton Mill Community Primary is committed to keeping children safe and ensuring families have clear, practical guidance. This Safeguarding Newsletter (April 2026) shares key information for parents and carers about staying alert to concerns, supporting children’s wellbeing, and knowing how to report worries. If you ever feel something is not right, please trust your instincts and speak to a member of staff—early action can make a real difference.
Online safety remains a priority. Please encourage your child to use devices responsibly, check privacy settings, and talk to you if they see anything upsetting or confusing. Remind them that they should never share personal information, passwords, or images with anyone they do not know in real life. If you receive messages or content that concerns you, keep a record (such as a screenshot) and report it through the platform’s safety tools. You can also contact school staff so we can offer advice and support.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, including families. We want children to feel confident to speak up about bullying, hurtful behaviour, or anything that makes them feel uncomfortable. Please reinforce that their safety matters and that they will be listened to without being blamed. If you have a concern about a child’s welfare, behaviour, or wellbeing, or you are worried about someone else’s safety, please contact the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead or follow the school’s safeguarding reporting procedures. Thank you for working with us to keep children safe at Horton Mill Community Primary.
