Maths at Horton Mill

Horton Mill our mathematical curriculum will enable children to develop fluency in fundamental mathematical concepts, including number, place value, and the four operations, while fostering confidence in problem-solving and reasoning. Pupils will learn to apply their knowledge to a range of contexts, using logical thinking to interpret, analyse, and solve problems. They will build a secure understanding of key areas such as fractions, measurement, geometry, and statistics, and will be encouraged to communicate their mathematical thinking clearly using appropriate vocabulary. The curriculum promotes accuracy, resilience, and a positive attitude towards challenge, helping children to recognise the relevance of mathematics in everyday life.
