Year 6

Welcome to our Year 6 class page.

Dear families,

Your teachers this year will be myself (Miss Lake) and Miss Hussain. Mrs Goodwin will also help us across the week.

Our class entrance is on the KS1 playground. You will see myself or Miss Hussain at the door. If you ever need to speak to us or want to have a chat about your child’s learning, just say hello in the morning! If you need a longer conversation with one of us, just let us know and we can arrange a time.

Important information

We have a P.E lesson on a Tuesday and a Wednesday so your child will need to come to school in their P.E kit. They need to wear:

a white top
black shorts or black jogging pants
plain trainers
a black jumper or jacket
If your child wears a scarf, they need to bring a sports scarf in for their active sessions.

Expected home learning

CGP skills books: each child has a selection of CGP books which will help them to develop vital skills for Year 6. I will inform your child which pages to do each week.

Reading at home: your child needs to read at least three times a week to ensure progress.

For each read, you need to sign their reading record. If your child has read three times, they will get a raffle ticket to be have a chance to win a prize at the end of the half term.

Practise their arithmetic skills on Arithmagicians 3 times a week.

Develop their spelling confidence on Spelling Shed 3 times a week.
