Child Safety
Dear families,
I am growing increasingly concerned about the number of cars that are parked on the yellow zig-zag lines outside the school gates on Greengate Street. Parking, stopping or waiting on yellow zig-zag lines is prohibited to ensure the safety of children.
- Prohibited Action: You must not stop, wait, or park on yellow zig-zag lines, even for a short time.
- Purpose: These lines protect pedestrians and improve visibility in high-risk areas.
- Penalties: Parking here can lead to a £70 fine (reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days), with cameras often used for enforcement.
Can I please ask that you respect the law so that we can keep our children and families safe.
I would also like to ask that our youngest children are fully accompanied by an adult at drop-off and pick-up times. Over the past few weeks, a number of nursery children have been walking down Greengate Street without an adult. Given my concerns above, I am very worried that a child is going to come to serious harm. Please make sure that our youngest children are holding an adult's hand.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in this very important matter.
Warm regards,
Zaira Cook
