Year 5

Welcome back!

We hope you had a nice break and are ready for Half Term Three!

Monday – Wednesday: Mrs Clews

Wednesday – Friday: Mrs. Meredith

Other adults in Year Five are: Mrs. Peerzada, Mrs. Parveen and Mrs. Munir.

This half term our Big Question is ‘Can you feel the force?’  Much of our learning will focus on science skills and we will be finding out all about different forces and the world around us.

In English we will be writing diaries using the book, ‘The man who walked between the towers’ as inspiration. We will also be writing explanations about the forces we encounter in our lives.

In maths we will develop our understanding of multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000. We will also be looking at fractions.

In ICT we will be looking at coding and making simple programmes.

In geography we will look at mountain ranges of the world.

RE will consider why people pray.

Important information:

Wednesday is PE day. On Wednesday children should come to school in their PE kits. This limits the items being brought into school.

Each Monday we will be swimming (beginning Sept 2022) All children will need to bring their kit in a bag on this day.

Boys: Swim shorts and a towel          Girls: A swimsuit, towel and a swim hat

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask. We are happy to support all our children and families in any way we can.
