Return to School (Post Lockdown)

Dear families,

We are grateful to you all for your continued support. You will no doubt have seen recent Government announcements about the proposal that more children will return to school from the 1st June.

To make sure that this is as safe as we can possibly make it for children and staff, we will be carrying out risk assessments and testing over the next few weeks and will be in constant communication with the Local Authority and the Governors.

Any re-introduction of selected year groups will not involve full classes and will most likely involve children on some sort of rota with staggered starts and finishes to the school day. We will need to introduce a variety of safety measures, social distancing, repeated hand washing and other necessary safety precautions. Th school day in these circumstances will be very different to anything that we or your children are used to. Learning can’t be delivered in the usual way and all activities will have to be carefully planned. Children won’t be able to sit together and work collaboratively for the foreseeable future. Playtimes and lunchtimes will need to be staggered with children sitting away from each other. Children and adults alike will need to be carefully supported throughout this time to help them to adjust to these changes.

We will endeavour to keep you updated as often as we can, but in the first instance if you are a parent of a child in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or Year 6, would you be so kind as to complete the survey below? All parents are welcome to complete the survey so that we have a full understanding of your views and concerns.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs Cook
