Pupil Premium (PP) Spending 2011/12
Our school allocation in 2011/12 was £32,574. We used this funding to support the Every Child a Reader (ECaR) programme at Key Stage 1. Additional funding from other areas of the school budget was also used to maintain additional staffing to support learning interventions in Reading with target groups of children.
Impact
The results of which in terms of Average Point Scores (APS) for children on Free School Meals and Looked After Children (LAC) for Reading at Key Stage 1 was 14.1 APS and Nationally 14.4 (a difference of 0.3APS).
Pupil Premium (PP) Spending 2012/13
Our allocation for PP for 2012/13 is £58,200 and is being used for:
- Early Intervention programmes to support children
- additional Teaching Assistants – delivering intervention activities
- continuing with our teacher trained in the Every Child a Reader (ECaR) programme supporting children in their reading and training Teaching Assistants in intervention programmes
- Learning Mentors assigned to specific children
Impact to date
Deployment of skilled staff, supporting key children individually and in small groups, is having a positive impact on attainment as noted on our internal assessment data. This will be compared to National Data when it becomes available.

- Early intervention – encouraging parental engagement in weekly teacher led workshops focusing on pre-school learning experiences to raise young children’s level of communication and develop their personal and social skills
- Learning Mentors supporting families
- Visits and trips
Proposed Pupil Premium (PP) Spending 2013/14
Our allocation for PP for 2013/14 is £88,050 will be used to continue Early Intervention:
- Pre-school Early Intervention – Parental engagement for families attending weekly school led ‘workshops’
- ECaR teacher focus on Nursery, Reception and Year 1
- Learning Mentors supporting families
- Subsidised visits and enrichment activities
