We are so pleased you stopped to have a look J
On this page you will find out lots of different information about what goes on in our lovely Year 1 class including important days to remember, activities that we are taking part in, how you can help your child at home and we may even put up some examples of our fantastic learning!!
Important Days to Remember:
Children will need a PE Kit – some shorts or leggings,
a t-shirt and some pumps or trainers.
Children like to put their PE kit in a bag with their name on it and keep it on their peg so they know it is in school every day so they don’t miss out!!
- We send weekly spellings home every Monday.
Children can keep these words at home to practice ready for a spelling check every Friday. Please help your child to learn these spellings as much as possible.
- We send Reading books home in book bags as much as possible.
Please spend 5 or 10 minutes reading with your child and asking them some questions about what they have read, for example:
What was the story about?
What happened at the start of the story?
What happened at the end of the story?
Who was your favourite character and why?
Can you describe where your story took place?
Please show your child how to look after their book, as any lost or damaged books will be charged £5. Thank you.
We look forward to sharing our school year on this webpage so please come back soon and see what we have been up to. If you have any questions or comment, please feel free to pop in and see us and we will try and help as much as possible.
