Just a few reminders

Reading

Please send your child’s book bag to school every day.

We send reading books home regularly. Please spend 5-10 minutes reading with your child every night and asking some questions about what they have read, for example:

What was the story about?

What happened at the start of the story?

What happened at the end of the story?

Who was your favourite character and why?

Can you describe where your story took place?

5-10 minutes a day can make a huge difference!

Please also show your child how to look after their book, as any lost or damaged books will be charged £5. Thank you.

Spellings

Children will receive spellings on a Monday and will be tested on a Friday. Please help them to learn them.

Swimming

Children in Class 2 go swimming on a Thursday.

They will need a towel and a costume/trunks. Girls are required to have their hair tied back and a swimming hat. This can be purchased from school. No jewellery must be worn for safety purposes.

PE

PE is on Wednesdays. Children need a PE kit, which consists of a T-Shirt, shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms and pumps. No jewellery must be worn due to safety purposes. Please make sure your child’s kit is clearly labelled with their name.

Finally

If you have any questions or concerns about your child please feel free to pop into school and we will try and help as much as possible.

Your child’s happiness, well being and success are very important to us and we want to make sure they enjoy school and that your child reaches their full potential.

Thank you for your support
